The Costa Rican Foodie Tour Farm to Table Essential Gastronomy Experience in San Jose's "Barrio Escalante" will take you into the heart of traditional Costa Rican cuisine. Each dish is prepared with fresh products sourced from ingredients grown within the country. We will explain the concept of each local dish, as well as the modern twist added to the country's food scene by each restaurant.

Tour Description

At all the restaurants, and coffee shop, we will explain what goes into preparing the signature dishes and drinks hand-crafted. The guide will translate when necessary and will also comment curious information about the products.

The restaurants chosen for this tour embody a local food-sustainable concept and innovative approach to traditional Costa Rican cuisine. You will enjoy fresh, locally sourced organic greens and vegetables throughout the tour.

The tour includes only natural drinks, you can buy alcoholic beverages if you wish during the tour.  

This is a walking tour. Walking time between restaurants take less than 10 min.

The tour last 3,5 hours approx.

Itinerary

Our Schedule:

Available Tuesday to Sunday. No tours on Mondays.

Start times: 12:00 or 15:00.

Private tours on request: our tours run at set start times, and other guests may join the same departure. If you prefer a private tour or a different start time, just ask us from 2 guests and we will check availability.

We will have 3 stops while we walk through Escalante neighborhood.

For 12:00 Tour:

• First stop: 3 starters + a natural drink.

• Second stop: 1 starter + main dish + soft drink + dessert.

• Third stop: Coffee workshop (1 hour experience) + 3 coffee tastings + an appetizer.

For 15:00 tour:

• First stop: Coffee workshop (1 hour experience) + 3 coffee tastings

• Second stop: 3 starters + a natural drink.

• Third stop: 1 starter + main dish + soft drink + dessert.

We can provide transportation from your hotel for an extra fee.

Prices per person based on minimum 2 people, if you are 6+ people we can give you a group discount. (Doesn't apply for promotions)
