Chef's Twist | Foodie Tours
Promotion available only on September and October 2018
Our Costa Rican Fusion Twist guided Food tour will take you through the Amon neighborhood in San Jose while we walk and enjoy each phase of the tour, we want you to familiarize with local history and culture, to taste the recipes where chefs combine Costa Rica's most traditional ingredients with some techniques and inspirations acquired from international cuisines from countries like France or Spain, without losing the essence of our local products and flavors. Just as it happened with Barrio Amon, the name of the neighborhood comes from the French coffee entrepreneur Amón Fasileau-Duplantier, known as Monsieur Amón, who immigrated to Costa Rica at the end of the 19th century.
- Minimum 2 people
- This tour is not available Sundays and Mondays.
At all restaurants and coffee shops, you will be welcomed by the chef, manager or owner (or meet them at the end) as they explain to you what goes into preparing the signature dishes and drinks hand-crafted by each proprietor. Guide will translate if necessary.
The restaurants for this tour were chosen due to their sustainable and healthy concept and innovation with Costa Rican cuisine, offering contemporary, modern food recipes. You will consume mostly fresh, locally sourced organic greens and vegetables during the tour.
The tour has alcoholic drinks, so please advise if you will be drinking natural juice or non-alcoholic drinks instead.
